Well, last Saturday morning we said a sad goodbye to Christopher’s parents who had been with us for two weeks. We had such a wonderful time enjoying the sights of Edinburgh and the surrounding area, catching up a bit and, not least, taking a week long trip to Paris together to visit some family. It was refreshing to get away, and ahh…Paris in the Springtime…what could be better? Here are a few shots of our time together.
- In Edinburgh on a chilly spring afternoon.
- New College amidst the daffodils.
- Melrose Abbey, or what’s left of it anyway. It dates to the 12th century.
- Dad and Mom and an old stone wall in the Scottish Borders.
- Looking for sheep in the Scottish Borders
- On the bus returning from the airport with Dad and Mom. Don’t you just love the plaid seats?
- Julian and Grandpa Bechtel
- Julian and his Bechtel grandparents
- On the banks of the Seine.
- Planning in Paris. Saint Sulpice fountain in the background.

What wonderful pictures! Your little Julian is a beautiful and sweet baby :0) Thanks for taking time to post these.
That kid is getting big, fast. You guys really need to come home maybe in like, June, so we can all meet him before he’s not a baby anymore.
Oh wow! What pictures and stories he will have when he is older. How many of our children here at Faith can say, yeah when I was a couple months old I was tooling around Paris!!
He is so big, and he looks so much like his daddy! I am so excited for you guys getting to enjoy this little one. God bless, and you are in our prayers.
Tina
Thanks for the update!! I love the first picture with you both and the fountain, Julian looks like Paris could be his second home. 🙂 I think he has Jackie’s eyes. I couldn’t tell who he looked like but I saw Jackie in he picture of him and Chris on the banks of Seine. I’m glad to hear you aren’t always stuck in your flat and that your able to get out and about a little.
He is so big! I can’t believe it! He’s also making so many faces, love it.
I’m a little jealous that he’s already gotten to go to Paris, since I’ve never been there.
Someday I will make it to Paris in the Springtime- the freezing winter is just not the best time to go and that has happened to me twice (yah, I know, poor me)
Hey, I was with you on one of those trips–it was pretty cold. I seem to remember you, Bry and me giving in to the cold and sitting in a warm McDonalds even though we hadn’t bought anything there while Vange nobly sat outside on the bus stop bench.
